Online Exam and Preparation Materials for California Teacher Credential Candidates

The fee for the U.S. Constitution exam and preparation materials is $85. You can pay by credit card or PayPal. Credit card payment means immediate access to the exam. If you use the PayPal e-check system, PayPal puts a hold on your exam registration until your e-check is cleared (1 to 5 days).

EXAMINATION POLICIES

This examination is offered for the purpose of Teacher Certification in the State of California by University Assessment Systems (UAS), in association with Notre Dame de Namur University (NDNU).

It is the test-taker's responsibility to determine:
a) whether you have already met the CTC requirement for knowlege of the principles and provisions of the U.S. Constitution for your credential, and
b) if you are in a teacher education program at a California university, whether your university will accept this UAS/ Notre Dame de Namur University online exam for purposes of recommending you to the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

There are no refunds of the exam fee.

While Notre Dame de Namur University utilizes the services of University Assessment Systems as its U.S. Constitution exam testing provider, NDNU is not responsible for the content, preparation materials, questions, policies, or services related to this exam. This examination is for the purpose of satisfying the U.S. Constitution requirement for California teacher certification as specified in California Education Code section 44335; no academic unit credit through NDNU is available.

You are allowed to take the timed final exam (50 multiple choice/multiple answer questions) a MAXIMUM of three times (with different questions, of course, and no charge for the retakes), but are NOT guaranteed to pass the exam. If your test score does not meet the passing standard (75%) after the third attempt, your exam is completed, and no portion of your fee will be refunded and you will be required to take an exam or a course on the U.S. Constitution elsewhere.

You are required to affirm an oath that you are receiving no aid or assistance while taking this exam.

The exam is "closed book, closed notes" and you will answer each exam question from your own knowlege and ability and will agree not to use any printed or online resources external to this site while taking the exam.
